Google Unique Product Identifiers UPI Starts Today for Google Shopping

Today is the BIG day with Google, and their changes they are laying out for ALL who sell online. Some of us might sell with a market place, sell with maybe our own websites, but as an Online Seller we all have to abide by some of the same rules. GOOGLE is the big dog search engine that we all try to work with. We do what we can to follow their rules which are forever changing, and it is hard to keep up with all the changes they do. As of today they are hitting us all with a Very Big step that they are implementing to all of us. Either follow the rules, or you will not show with Google Shopping. This can effect you alone, or if there are too many incidents it can also effect the whole market place site that you sell with too.

As of today (May 3) for Google Shopping Google is requesting Unique Product Identifiers to be added to specific listings. If your items do not have these identifiers they are requesting they will not be submitted to Google Shopping.

Unique Product Identifiers are product codes, or other values that may be associated with an individual product, or a listing. These identifiers are like a UPC code, MPN manufacturer part number, ISBN or that of a Japanese or Eurpeon article number JAN, EAN.

Categories they mention are Media which would use the UPC, EAN, or JAN. Books ISBN 10 or 13. Exceptions would be for the books published before 1970. Apparel, Custom Made Goods will need NO identifiers required at the moment. All Other they want you to show at least 2 of the following identifiers which is -UPC, EAN, or JAN -Brand -MPN.

This unfortunately is making a lot of sellers go back through everything, and edit their listings, and making us aware of new listings for how they must be done. IF you yourself cannot find the UPI you can request an exemption from Google. Remember, even they make mistakes if they deny this to you as I seen done with 1 seller of a vintage item. If the UPI is available by any other retailer, then you must also include the UPI as well with no exemption.

Categories NOT currently requiring the UPI: Apparel (including asseccories like jewelry) collectibles, vintage, antiques, one-of-a-kind OOAK, and custom made goods. Below I have copied a small chart being passed around for others to see, and I did get this one from the forums at Artfire too.

I would like to also note that at the same time these issues are strongly being informed by Google to PLEASE watch your duplicate content also. Google does not permit this. I know, I know, we are all seeing it all the time, everyone seems to be getting by with it, but read auctionbytes with an article recently of how they have shut off iOffer do to rules not being followed. At the end of this particular article is was also noted:

Additionally, Google has a rigid policy against duplicate listings. "There is a strict "one item, one owner" policy," the terms state. "As the owner, you may only submit one listing per item, no matter if you own multiple websites."

I would like to emphasize this too...since I seen it with 1 of my Artfire listings out of the 97 listed so far....I have a vintage item not accepted to Google Shopping.......REMEMBER, Google Shopping is not the only search engine. There is still more of google that is used for searching. You also have search engines from Bing, Yahoo, MSN, The Find, and actually there are a lot of them out there. Google is the biggest one yes, but Google Shopping is not the biggest of the Google search engines either. Many people will go to Google, and type in their keywords they are searching. After viewing those pages they might then click on Shopping. But, the Shopping tab is not the first thing considered.

I have seen from Google Analytics, and other stats I have that it is not always Google Shopping that shows me, but rather it is from a normal Google Search, The Find, Bing, AOL, and etc. This informs me that my items are still being seen with other searches. What I myself can do is keep focusing on my keywords, titles, my SEO, tags, and etc. Let Google 'clean house' Should have been done a long time ago, but it is happening now. We can either deal with it, and do the best that we can, or like some have done...moved on, and given up. Sorry, I am too stubborn for the latter part of what some have done:)

I wish all of you the best of luck with all of these changes. Gonna be tough at first, but things will soon calm with us learning our own ways of dealing with this, reading from others about what they are doing that works, and as I always seem to do...Learn as I go:) Thanks for visiting with PassnItOn today. Take care, and I wish the best of luck to everyone!:)

Here is a chart I copied to show you a bit of what was discussed. Good Luck to all of you, and I wish you well.

CategoryIdentifiers required for each product
Media (i.e., Music, Movies, Video games)UPC, EAN, or JAN
BooksISBN (Either ISBN-10 or ISBN-13. Exceptions apply for books published before 1970.)
Apparel, custom made goodsNo identifiers are required at the moment

Custom made: Custom made items include one-of-a-kind items include items which are custom made, vintage goods, collectibles etc. Custom made items can be in every product category.

Artfire Addoway Vintage Collectibles Repurposed Upcycled

Hello, and Welcome to PassnItOn! Stopping by to wish all of you a HAPPY EASTER to you, and yours. Be safe, and enjoy the day everyone.

This year just me, and hubby sitting at home. Feels really different, but I guess this is what it is when kids grown up, move out, on their own, marry, children, and etc. Holidays will always be hard with this.

Tonight I did about 9 listings between Artfire, and my Addoway Store. I have completed the transfer of repurposed, and upcycled treasures from PassnItOn into my LilacsNDreams Store. Has been a smooth move, and actually I think a good one too. I have been featured with more collections with the transfer, and of course puts more items into my LilacsNDreams Artfire Store which will bring more traffic too. So, now you will find the repurposed, and upcycled treasures I do in that store along with vintage, collectibles, glassware, and so on. So far I think things are blending in well enough. When you visit my store, on the right side of the page click on the category for Repurposed, Upcycled, Recycled to see all the items of this nature listed there.

I really thought about it hard, but finally did remove the pro membership on my PassnItOn Store to a basic account. Hated to let such a good deal go, but nothing is in the store, no plans to do anything with another store at this time, and it is for the best to do this. I also have another store that is with Addoway where I will be offering treasures that are not old enough for vintage, but collectibles, or pieces that are still desired by people.

So, when you have a chance visit with my stores, browse, and enjoy your visits. Any questions do not hesitate to contact me, ok?

Wishing ya'll a super weekend, and a very HAPPY EASTER! Take care, enjoy, and be safe!

Artfire For Vintage, Supplies, Handmade, Designs and Addoway For Everything

Hello, and welcome to PassnItOn Blog! Glad to see you here, and visiting with me again.

I am still doing my transfers of this store to my LilacsNDreams Artfire Store. I am almost done, about 4 more to go, and have been getting some really good reviews from different people on facebook, and etc. Thanks everyone!:) Feels better with kind words from others, and the sweet comments everyone has been leaving for me.

Now....like many others, I to have products that do not qualify for Artfire. Either they are not handmade, designed, supplies, or old enough to be vintage. So, I have to find another place to sell products that I cannot sell at Artfire. And, no, I am enjoying Artfire very much that I will not leave it either:)

Anyway, many of us use more than 1 selling venue for different reasons, different needs, different circumstances, and etc. I would like to suggest to many of you to try Addoway.com. They are a young site, are nicely growing, have had many sellers leave bonanza to come here, AND many are reporting making sales with Addoway too. So, click here, look it over, and give it a try http://www.addoway.com/ref/30ce9c2fa7371bb4ee9c32128a203d8a  I have started listings there myself, have had the store for a while but never used it, and am seeing such good things about it that I too am trying it out.

Thanks again for visiting with me today everyone, and make sure you check out my LilacsNDreams Artfire Store, and also, please, checkout out Addoway too. Looks like something good to also grow with too:)

Best of luck to all of you, thanks for visiting me today, and see you again soon:)

Artfire Vintage Collectibles Glassware Home Decor Repurposed Upcycled Recycled

Hello, and Welcome to PassnItOn Blog. Happy to have you here.

Sorry, I know I have been a bit slow getting to this blog, and it has not been intentional. Been working with the transfer of items from my PassnItOn Artfire Store into my LilacsNDreams Artfire Store. Been a little slower then intended due to family, life, and something is always coming up lately. But, I keep working on it as I am able to.

I do have a cloche that I had repurposed, upcycled, and recycled from different pieces put together. I was never really completely happy with the ending product. It felt like something was missing, but not sure what it was. You ever get that sometimes? And then it bothers you, or nags at you a bit till maybe you think of something. Done that a few times myself as I am sure others have too. Well, the other night before transferring it to my LilacsNDreams Artfire store I found a glass piece that appeared to be the right size, height, and was clear glass to match with the glass cloche dome made. I have glued the piece to the bottom, and feel better with the piece now. It gave it a little bit of height, not much, but just enough I think. My only hope is that others will like it as I like it now. My first cloche to make, and I have ideas for another one. Still a working progress for the second one.

I have been busy with my facebook page for LilacsNDreams, and have had many likes this past week from many good Artfire Members, and others finding me along the way. I am really enjoying the combination of both these stores, have had some good responses to it, and some great views too. It really feels good to house things under one roof...so to speak.

When you get a chance, visit my LilacsNDreams Artfire Store. Hopefully this weekend the transfer will have been completed as I have also completed a few other projects I would like to add with the inventory. I am really enjoying this, and feel comfortable with this too. Stop by to visit, say Hi, leave me a comment, and love the visits! Hey, don't forget you can do the same thing here too!:)

Thanks for visiting PassnItOn Blog today. Hope to see you again. Take care everyone, and have a super weekend!:)

Vintage, Collectibles, Glassware, Dinnerware, Home Decor, Repurposed, Upcycled, Recycled with LilacsNDreams

Hello everyone, and Welcome to PassnItOn! Glad to have you here.

As everyone knows I was gone most of the weekend, and during the time of abscense, driving for hours, etc. I had time to think of things too. I have 2 shops with Artfire, and the other shop has a different name. The name with the 2nd one is a name I have been suing since like 2004-2005 when I first started sales online. Everyone likes simplicity, less work, easier to organize & maintain, and having things in 1 place. I believe I am going to be combining my 2 shops at Artfire under my other shop name which is LilacsNDreams. Within that shop I will be offering vintage, collectibles, dinnerware, glassware, home decor, kitchenware, along with repurposed, upcycled, and recycled treasures. Some of the reconstructed treasures might use a vintage piece during its process making. After much thought I feel that this kind of variety store would be fine to have combined, and a more enjoyable shopping experience for everyone too.

So, now that I am back home, rested a bit today, I would like to start working tomorrow on moving things over, and combining into one store. As my friend has often mentioned....simplicity....and I feel like this is a good move too. When you get a chance, watch my LilacsNDreams Artfire Shop where you will see everything in 1 place to simplify. I will then be able to better focus with my listings more into 1 shop, give it all the proper attention it should have, and not only will it be more enjoyable for the customers, but also for me too.

I will keep this blog going right now, and have no intentions of closing this. Great way to keep everyone informed, share, and gives everyone time to find me with other places too. When you have a chance feel free to visit my other blog at LilacsNDreams Blog, or visit my website I have also been working with at LilacsNDreams Website. Would love to have you visit, and leave comments with things too.

Thanks for the visit, and the understanding of changes coming too. Wishing ya'll a very Happy Hump Day! Take care, and best wishes to everyone!

PassnItOn Repurposed UpCycled ReStored Treasures

Good Morning, and thank you for visiting my PassnItOn Blog. Hope this finds everyone doing well, and having a super day.

I have a mess on my table with pieces of glass to glue together, sorting through pieces, setting pieces together and then deciding do not like it, or altering them, and so on. I have different little mini bouquets of flowers sitting around trying to decide finishing touch for another piece, and babysat grandbaby yesterday.....so I was delayed from what I started to do:) Looking at it today, and still unsure of a few things.

Think gonna leave house for a bit, get some errands done, clear the head a bit, and hopefully when I come back I will see a picture of things to accomplish with some of these pieces here.

Don't forget to visit PassnItOn Artfire Shop to see some of the pieces I have done, and watch for more to come....once I get them completed. Also, to see my links, pictures, and notes in one place feel free to visit a site I am working with PassnItOn. I am thinking I might like this better for a website than the google one I have been working with. Much easier to navigate, and deal with. Still a working progress, but really like the ease of things with this place. Check it out, and see what you think.

Here is wishing all of you a Happy Hump Day! Wishing you luck with all you do being productive, and with those who sell too. Thanks for visiting PassnItOn, and hope to see you here again soon!:)

New Facebook Fan Page

Hello everyone, and Welcome to PassnItOn!

Is anyone else having issues with Facebook with the new changes that have made? I have seen a lot of people asking for help, having problems with pages, falling into certain glitches with facebook, and so on. Well, I am one of them myself. I have spent a couple of days trying to fix some glitch I fell into, and well...it has not been working. I have enough people liking my fan page to get the New URL address for it, but upon doing so I fell into some glitches with that. Facebook is such a big place, so well advanced, you would think that they would have better support to help people with. And, that they could better fix issues that need correcting instead of saying NO, you had your chance, this is it, sorry. So sad.

Anyway, due to the issues I have been having....I have started another fan page, and I need to get everyone to please please please help me by liking it so that I may get the short URL address. Once I get things transferred over, and situated, and can notify fans and friends of such....I will close the other FB account as fast as I can:)

Here is the link to click for my fan page http://www.facebook.com/pages/PassnItOn/159628154091122   If you will, please stop by and like my fan page so that I can close the other account, and get this one all set up for everyone, and for me too:) Thanks a bunch everyone, and I do appreciate it!:) Have a super evening, and a beautiful day all!

* * * ALL items have been repurposed, upcycled, and self created by Me using previously loved items that may show light wear, if any. I search for items to use with care, and find the best possible pieces I can that are in a respectable good used condition. Sometimes some of them look like new. All pieces are then carefully hand washed prior to my process of repurposing, and upcycling. I would not offer anything to you that I would not gladly display with my own home. Unfortunately, I do not have the room for all of these lovely treasures created (LOL) They must go to new homes, and that is why I offer them to everyone with my Artfire Shop. I enjoy what I am doing, and am always anxious to be working with something new, and making notes for new ideas. As I like to note in all my listings, unless otherwise noted to you these pieces are One-of-a-kind not found in stores. How Special is that? * * *

Have a super evening everyone, Happy Hunting, and Shopping!:)
