Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone in Blogland

Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone!!

Welcome to Second Time Treasures all! Glad to have you dropping in. As you can see I have been Missing In Action again, and really did not plan it being this way. I guess I got to many skillets on the fire here, and have been working on narrow things down a bit. Spending a lot of time with my main blog over at LilacsNDreams, and with one of my pages there too LilacsNDreams Shoppe. Stop by to visit there when you get a chance.

Also, I have another blog that feels more comfortable to be, and is actually more like me, and who I am too. I would like to introduce that blog to you as well Thrifty Shop Girl. I would be happy to see you hop on over to that blog, and join me there. Nothing fancy at that one, just down to earth, sharing time about my adventures and finds with thrifting, yard sales, and that sort of thing. Still a working progress, but it is coming along nicely too. So, give it a visit when you can.

As for this blog? Not sure what I want to do with it yet. My domain I need to check with GoDaddy to see how much more time is left with it as I am considering letting it go. I changed my second shop at ebay to ThriftyShoppeGirl as well. To me it is kind of catchy, but it is sooo much more me, what I do, what I enjoy doing whether business, or just for Me too:)

I hope ya'll have a super fun Labor Day Weekend!:) Visit the other blogs when you can, and would be sooo happy to see you too! Make sure to say Hi so that I can also come visit with you as well. Thanks again for visiting Me, and hope to see you at the other blogs everyone!

         HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND BLOGLAND!!

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Blog Blogger Blogspot

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Everyone! Great to have you back here, and visiting today.

Wow! What a weekend! I had a great schedule of how I was working things out for all my blogs, doing listings for my reselling that I do, taking pictures, doing research, and etc. Then...boom! I got hit with the bad luck thing again. Why Me? Does it quit? When can I see the light of day? And...you know what I mean:)

The computer has always done this thing where it shuts down, no signal found, and sometimes will restart, and other times you have to start it. Computer always comes back on, and business as usual...unless the temperature is warm on it of course. So, when it went down nothing different was thought of it. Turned it back on, and WOW! Different desktop pic showing, icons were different, finding files and transferring them to another place, and just all that kind of stuff. Along the bottom bar I get pop ups for when computer starts, and to me they looked normal.

After doing work, restart computer, and boom! Back to the beginning again. Files gone I was moving, desktop not saving, and just everything I did was not saving on the computer. One of them there pop ups that comes on as computer is coming on, and signing in showed something about Profile Not Found. So, I watched closer, made note of it, and then went into ask.com to research it a bit. Yepper! There was others who had this happen....a corrupted file! So, I pretty much did all that was instructed except messing with the registry keys...that makes me nervous. I am no computer tech, and do things as I have learned them.

Finally, I seem to be getting some where that I could at least save the files to folders organized in my Picture folder. Desktop picture was staying as it should. The browser of choice was finally staying set without asking me everytime it started up which browser to use, etc. Nothing perfect, still have a lil kink in it here, and there. Looked through the registry keys for the one suggested....not there. I cannot find some of the missing files that I know are in the hard drive, and therefore some things I have to start over with again...urgh!

I have gone into computer, put the sleep mode as never, set computer as never to shut off unless I do it, or of course something bad is coming in.....that I cannot get to work for me as it keeps reverting back to the other settings. So, some where I do not have full access as the new administrator I have assigned to this computer....the other old ones have been deleted. But, I am up and running, and now to play a lil bit of catch me up with things.

It's Wednesday....HAPPY HUMP DAY TO ALL!! Hope ya'll are doing well this week, enjoying the weather, and have been able to do some thrifting, or painting, or some repurposing and crafting too. I'm getting there, but the computer comes first right now:) Know what I mean?:)

Thanks for sharing your time with Second Time Treasures! Come back to visit again soon.

Happy Memorial Day and Weekend to Blog Bloggers and Blogland

Happy Memorial Day and Weekend to Blog Bloggers and Blogland!

Hello, and thanks for stopping by Second Time Treasures! Happy to see you visiting with Me today. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far, and that it finishes off with a wonderful Memorial Day Monday! Did ya'll have big plans? Not here. Have pretty much been home by myself. Grabbed the paint tray, another bucket of paint, paint brush and roller, and went upstairs to work on some more painting in the bedrooms. I am determined to get this done yet!

Anyway, while out and about enjoying your time, and being with family and friends. Please, try to remember those men and women who are gone, but served our country to give us the freedoms we have today. Remember them, and the families and friends that they have left behind to be proud of them, and what they did.

I wish you all well, and hope the weekend is being good to you. Thanks so much for sharing your time with Second Time Treasures this evening. Ya'll take care, and see you again soon.

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Bloggers and Blogland

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures Bloggers, and those in Blogland! Glad to see you stopping by, and happy you landed here.

Well, not too much to really report to anyone at this time. Just Life, working around home to complete remodeling projects, some days no contractors, and some days contractors are in and out, and here all day. Well, the were here today so I could not work on painting walls. So, I was outside mowing. Windy, windy, and was it windy out too! But, got 1/2 the property done which is good for me. Might rain tomorrow....if it does I can work on painting walls. IF it would not rain I could maybe do some more mowing again too. Or, who knows, if I have the energy a lil bit of both:)

Holiday weekend almost here. Anyone have any big plans? I don't. Hubby cannot be home, son will be gone all weekend, sister is going camping, and other sister is doing her own thing some where else too. So, maybe I will be able to get some things done around here....Hmmm......Work on painting, maybe finish a couple of homemade projects here, and relaxing too! Could be promising, huh? LOL:) I know....

Well, this is hoping everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday, and a wonderful evening! Ya'll take care, and come back again soon. See Ya!

Second Time Treasures Welcomes Blogs, Bloggers, and Blogland

Second Time Treasures Welcomes Blogs, Bloggers, and Blogland.

Hi, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! Happy to see you back, and happy you stopped while passing through also. I know, I shouldn't have to say it again....and again....I am so very very sorry everyone for not checking in here sooner. I tell ya, Life has gotten a hold of me lately, and I have had to prioritize just a bit. Spending time with my stores, making a sale here and there, shipping, taking son to & from work everyday, and.....worst of all was on this past Monday!

Yeah, I would have never guessed it to happen, but it did, and I am heart broken over it too. I have a blog that pretty much directs to my online sales. I have had the blog since 2009, and the past year have focused my attention and energy on it. Reading things to do, researching the good and bad of things to do, applying keywords - links - and doing a little bit of SEO with it too. Then, I sat done and looked at things that I should cover for topics, and not cover. Found out there is no right, or wrong to it....be yourself, and do with it as you wish for whatever your purpose may be.

So, I have gotten domains from GoDaddy, and directed those to my blogs too. On Monday I checked emails, checked accounts, and then went to sign into my main business blog. Message...Blog deleted, Blog disabled, Blog not found were the 3 different messages I would get at different times. No reason for this, no excuses, and most of all...not definite way to find out about it either. I have gone to the help sections, left messages, and that usually is not very successful. Blogger is sooo big...like Facebook that doing the one on one thing just doesn't happen. At some point I was told it would be submitted for review for reinstatement. Could take up to 7 business days. Yikes! That won't work!

So, after all of that I spent all day on Monday into Monday night making a new blog, some new blog pages, getting my links put into order, banners, pictures, avatars, clocks, stat counters, organizing it, and doing all I could. Then, I went off to different places to announce the new blog addy I had too. Here it is Thursday, still not fully done with my Blog to where I want it, but it can be viewed. People are slowly coming to it, slowly getting some followers again, and etc. Then...trying to find a way that I could find/retrieve some of the blog posts I had done with it that brought me some attention too.

All I can say is what a work out it has been! I would never wish this upon anyone. I would not have been so heart broken if I had not put so much time, and my heart into it. Also, I like my blog because it is like a website to me. It's free...except for the domains I direct to it, I have pages, I share things, share information, shares instructions, ideas, and just whatever I think would be of interest to my followers.

Well, looks like I have written a book here now, huh? Sorry about that everyone. I get carried away sometimes. I enjoy blogging, and until Monday had a schedule worked out that I could spread my time with all of them....I have been slightly delayed.

Thanks for being patient with me everyone. I so appreciate it! Thanks for visiting with Second Time Treasures. Take care, and see you again soon!:)

Google Friend Closing Linky Followers is New

Google Friend Connect Closing Linky Followers is New.

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures everyone! Glad to have you here. This posting will be short as it is becoming late night, but I wanted to get this noted. Earlier tonight an email had been received about Google Friend Connect will be closing. I guess it is another program like Picnik that Google will be closing with their list they have. Due to this factor for anyone listed in the Google Friend Connect will be lost...how sad. So, I was given the option to sign up with Linky Followers. I figured it is free, and I see other blogs using this as well, so why not give it a try, right? In the right hand column you will see not far down, under Google Friend Connect, that I have added this Linky Followers Box. If you will be so kind as to sign in, and follow with it I would appreciate it. IF for some reason Google does not close the Friend Connect Box I will remove all the extras I have showing right now. But, till then, I would prefer to be safe preparing for this then to be sorry later on.

Hey, thanks for visiting with me, and I appreciate it. Always welcome to visit Second Time Treasures, and stop by anytime. Make sure to say Hi so that I know to come visit with you as well. Thanks again everyone. Take care, and have a super week into the weekend! Later..........

Picnik Needs to Stay Open Petition Its Stay Please

Picnik Needs to Stay Open Petition Its Stay Please!

Welcome to Second Time Treasures everyone, and glad to see you all here. Have you heard about Picnik? Do you use Picnik? It is a photo editing program that has been free, and also a small premium fee for more added features. Very easy to use, no hassles, uncomplicated, no hard to read and understand software to deal with, and I cannot say enough good about this place. I have sooo enjoyed using them, and then came the news of Google taking them over. Things went well, nothing bad was coming of it till now with this announcement. When you can please visit this site, and sign a petition to stop this madness. The alternative being given to us to use is with Google+. I enjoy Google+ myself, but do not like it for the photo editing I have with Picnik. Doing things this way feels as though Google is now really pushing the Google Plus at us. Sad:(

So, stop on by, give it a read, and better yet....sign a petition to protest this change that Google is once again enforcing....that does NOT need to be done! I thank you all for visiting, and taking the time with this announcement. Take care, and have a super weekend everyone!

Official Announcement: Picnik is closing

Set Clocks Back an Hour Day Light Savings Time

Set Them Clocks Back an Hour, Day Light Savings Time.

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures this evening! Glad to have you here, and that you could stop to visit with me! I wanted to come by, and leave a note for everyone to remind you to set them clocks back tonight before you go to bed. Otherwise, you could wake in the morning to a reality check after you have rushed around getting ready for church, to meet with friends, to go for a brunch, and so on....that you are waayyy ahead of schedule. By about an hour...LOL:) Don't worry, this is a reminder for me too. I get forgetful as well:)

Setting our clocks back is good, we gain another hour, but I also think of how this is it. This is really fall/winter time, and the dark nights will come much sooner to us now too. Hopefully this winter will be good to us, and we can move onto spring when need be.

Ok, sorry. Thanks again for visiting with Second Time Treasures, and hope this is a helpful reminder to you about setting them clocks back! Enjoy that extra hour....I know I will:) See you when you come back.

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Blog

Hello, and Welcome again to Second Time Treasures! Glad to see you here, and happy that you passed by to visit.

If you are following me you will notice that I am slowly making some changes again with this blog. I have done the name change....Use to be Passn It On. Also, at the top you will notice that 2 of the tabs when clicked take you to a new page. When you see LilacsNDreams with the page banners along with the tab name, please do not get excited. That is my name I have used since 2004, and to keep things a bit simpler I have redirected you to those pages for this blog as well. Hope that is understandable how I have tried to explain it. Give the tabs a click to see what I am referring to if you will:)

I hope this finds everyone having a great morning, day, evening which ever it may be for you. Also, I would like to quickly note that I belong to different social networks....I love meeting people, and being involved, and learning things with them too. Anyway, the one site I belong to called Treasure Seekers Unite has a new platform, and it is really looking good. Members are signing up and joining. The site is for sellers, buyers, collectors, and so on. A little bit of everyone. Place to meet others who might share some of your same interests, and with the groups you can become more involved. Share some things, you know:) When you get a chance, stop by to give them a visit, and become a member as well. Would be happy to see you there. While there maybe consider joining my group I have started, and administering there as well called Re-Treasure. Hope to see you there everyone!:)

Thanks for visiting with Second Time Treasures, and hope you enjoyed your visit with me. Thanks so much for being patient with me as I work with changes on everything. I appreciate it all. Take care everyone.

Welcome to Second Time Treasures Formerly Passn It On

Hello everyone, and glad to see you here!:)

Whew! If you will please bear with me one more time....I am making some changes with ALL my blogs, trying to make them work together, and bring them in together a bit more than what they were. With this one you will notice I have changed the name with it....fits more with what I am working on doing, and changing things to. Some blogs of mine have been canceled, and some have been added.....as pages for my main blog. As ya'll know, that is where I have been spending a lot of my time is with my main blog....it's for my business, and generates the traffic for me that is growing too! I am excited because for me it is an accomplishment.

When I started things online with selling I just kind of stepped up to it, and just did it. Over time I have been learning things, researching things, and reading things. I decided to slow myself down a little bit, and re-evaluate things a bit more. So, I have stepped back a bit, decided to work with my blogs more, and my website, and try to get my views and things up with that. I have not listed anything new for my stores....as of yet. Summertime is always slow for me. It gives me a chance to do what I am doing now, look things over, see what I need to change, and decide what directions I am going.

I LOVE vintage, collectibles, and always will. I enjoy selling them, and am always learning great things, and meeting great people along the way too. But, things haven't been fully settled with me. I felt there was more I wanted to do, and just did not feel completed yet. Over time I have watched, read, reviewed, and soooo enjoyed everything shared by soooo many crafty people out there! Kind of some of the "Child" coming back in me. When I was younger I use to paint things, create things, sew with grandma's sewing machine, and over time grandma would bring me silk flowers she would find on sale, or maybe bring some other things of scraps of material and different supplies she would find on sale. I now know I should have listened to her quiet hints to me. She seen something with me then, and I soooo wish she was here to see things now, and see what I have been working on, and planning to do!

So, I intend to keep selling vintage, collectibles as I do enjoy it. But, along with it I also will be implementing things with repurposed, reused, upcycled, and items reconstructed by me. I am no expert, and learning as I go. But, it occupies my time, I am enjoying it, and it has been comforting to work with some things so far. I hope to be doing more with supplies, and things I have here now. Working on my schedules of things, and trying to get back into the "groove" of what I do....selling:)

Thanks for being patient, and bearing with me through all of this. I really appreciate it. Please, check out my main blog of LilacsNDreams. See the pages that have been added to it, and some of the rearranging of things I have also been doing. Working on trying to bring it all together.....one step at a time:) Thanks for visiting, and please visit to keep updated. Know that you are always welcome to leave comments, and share with any of my blogs, and pages. Take care everyone!:)

Blog, Blogging, Blog Pages

Blog, Blogging, Blog Pages . . . . Hello everyone, and Welcome to PassnItOn! Glad to see you here. Why is it when it becomes summer we all kind of slow down with things, schedules we had seem to alter themselves, and know what I mean? LOL:)

Don't take me wrong, I have been checking in with my stores every day, making sure everything is ok, if there are any changes, and all of that. But, during the summer sales do slow a bit with everyone vacationing, camping, traveling, visiting, activities, and so on. I like to take this time to go through inventory at home, clear some things out, clean house a bit more, and spend time with my blogs and my website too.

When you have a chance, please visit LilacsNDreams Blog. Working on a few changes there, ran into a glitch with having pages with blogger, but has found another way around it. Hopefully it will work as planning on. I noticed another blog tonight, was very nice, a seller from Artfire, and for her pages she had a box on the side bar for her, and had it titled Categories. I had seen this method explained to do when in search of working with pages on blogger. I questioned if I would like it, but got to see how it worked. Not too bad, and I know others are using that way too.

Anyway, check out LilacsNDreams Blog with blog, blogging, vintage, collectibles, repurposed, and see what is happening with the pages there. See the solution that was chosen in that case, and read why it was done too.

Thanks for visiting with PassnItOn, and wishing ya'll a super weekend! Have fun, and be safe:)

Storefronts and How Much is Enough

LilacsNDreams Blog Storefronts, and How much is Enough

Hi! Welcome to PassnItOn today! Just stopping by to drop a quick note to ya'll to check out the link above for LilacsNDreams Blog Post. Been getting some good comments, reviews, private messages from Lilacs, noted to Facebook, Noted to Link In, and was noted on Twitter too. Pretty good, huh? A topic that many sellers online can relate to, and know they are not alone with their decisions. Others too face some of the same things.

Anyway, click the link, and have a look, leave a comment, maybe share something, and have fun. Thanks for dropping by PassnItOn. See Ya!:)

How Many Storefronts is Enough

Remember that Old saying that many of us see, hear, and repeat to others too. "Don't Put Your Eggs All in 1 Basket"

Hmm....With that thought in mind How Many Storefronts Do You Really Need? Many times we ask this question, it often comes to mind for many of us, and we ask ourselves...Do I need another store? Do I have enough? Will I make more sales if I have another store? How many stores is enough. Will it benefit me? Many questions asked with very good reasons too.

The thought behind the idea is the more stores you have, the more visitors, more traffic, and all that you will attract. There is no right, or wrong answer for me to offer. You need to find what works for you, and what you are more comfortable with. I am not able to give a single answer to this that will cover all sellers. Many mixed feelings, and ideas about it. Some sellers find that having everything under 1 roof works for them while other sellers feel they can do better if they separate things into different stores.

First, ask yourself if you should have 1 store per type of product you will be selling, or do you want 1 store with maybe multiple categories. Something to consider depends on the product you are selling. It may not all be for the same customers you serve. Example I will use is selling electronics, and clothing within the same store. Will it work? Is it appealing to you? Try to maybe see it through the eyes of a customer too.

Then, if you have everything into 1 store it might be helpful because you would have more listings, you would have more people coming to check things out, it could bring you more traffic, customer would not have to chase around with stores, and etc. Doing this could make a bit more work with categories to cover everything for products you have to offer, and to help assist customers when they enter store to visit, browse, and shop. My thought was like a catalog you would browse, and shop with. Also, Simplicity. If we can keep things closer together in 1 place then how much easier is that not only for us, but also for the customers too.

So, IF you did split things up into separate stores, how much should you have in each one of them? I have seen, and read it many times. You should have at least 100+ items per store to get descent traffic to stores, and to assist with placements in google searches. I am thinking SEO too. Actually it would help you with any search engine.

If you have separate stores should you have all stores located with multiple market places. Should you have them spread out with different locations. Consider fees, and time spent doing all of this too. It would really depend on the type of product you are offering, and if it would really be necessary to do this. Ask yourself if is would be beneficial to you.

I do apologize again about not giving you a right, or wrong answer to this. I have seen many people find, and experiment with many things till they find works for them. I see numerous sellers having 1, 3, 5, 10, 12 shops and more too. They have found this works for them. I'm thinking WHEW! I've had 5-6 shops, and did not really like it. Helps to not duplicate things for sale in your stores, but it was very time consuming going from store to store, maintain this store, need this done at that store, and then hold up on doing things because You have to get this order ready for shipment from another store, etc. This item sold, now which store did I have that listed in. Did I duplicate it, and if so, better get it out of the other store as soon as possible so I do not have a double sale happen to me.

I have 3 stores now, and debate if I should still have 3, and maybe 2. I am testing the 3rd store right now, and see if it is one to keep, or if I should use just 2 instead. For me, I will need at least 2 stores because not everything I sell can be considered vintage. Some of it is collectible pieces not old enough to be considered vintage, and therefore cannot be listed with 1 of my stores. So, 2 stores for sure would come into play for me. Some people are at a venue where they can house everything under 1 store. Hey, I did it with Ebay many moons ago, and I did great with it there! Like everything else, time happens to us, and we feel the need to move on.

Well, I hope this little topic is enough to have you think about what you are doing with your store/stores, and if you feel it is the right path for you to be taking. I wish you all well, and the best of luck with all your decisions, and sales of course too!:) Always Welcome to visit PassnItOn, leave comments, and share with us your experiences too. Thanks again everyone!

Selling Online is Hard Work For Sellers

Hello, and Welcome to my PassnItOn Blog! Below you are going to see a topic about Selling Online, it's hard work, different than the brick and mortar stores, and some things involved with selling online. Sharing my opinion, and others are welcome to comment, and share too. Also, what you read below has pretty much been copied over from my other LilacsNDreams Blog, but wanted to share it here with you too. Hope you enjoy it.

Today I am going to discuss a subject that many of us deal with as sellers online.  Please remember this is in my opinion. There is no right, or wrong. You are welcome to comment, or share with us here too. When searching, or doing a listing with any of the venues I sell with I try to put things into perspective as if I were the buyer is generally how I work with most of my listings, and things I do for Online Sales.

I believe that Selling Online is hard work, and could be even more if I did everything I read and seen mentioned to do. It is very time consuming, and much harder to do than selling in person in my opinion. I feel it to be harder as the buyer is not able to touch what is being sold. Therefore have to work more with our descriptions to help the buyer feel the product, and also make the search engines happy with words we use. Along with this are pictures so that the prospective buyer can also better see with our descriptions what is being offered. As some of us know, pictures can also be time consuming with lighting, finding the right angles, amount of pictures, etc.

Another issue is that there is no two way conversation between the seller, and buyer to see the buyer's eyes. Seeing someone's eyes helps get a feel about the upcoming purchase. Helps you to better assist with addressing things right on the spot. Conversation is always helpful. I myself sometimes get too winded when describing things in my listings. I am trying to get the buyer to see what I see, feel what I can feel, and hopefully answer questions without wasted time between us contacting each other through emails.

Time is spent with shipping costs, finding the best one to offer for the item being sold, and the best way to ship from past experiences too. Unless the items I offer can be put to something smaller like an envelope, I generally send items USPS Priority Mail with insurance included. Reason for that is generally the shipping rates are a bit better, customers get their items within 2-3 days, and the insurance is always included for a more secure delivery. That comes from past dealings with the postal service. If a customer contacts me, and wishes to have it sent another way, I will work with them to do so as requested. I work with my customers the best possible way that I can.

Another thing as a seller to keep in mind is the venues we choose to sell with. Some of the venues do not cater to the same type of buyers, and sellers. I have found that sometimes what can work for one seller does not always work for another seller. There are many venues out there to choose from, some have higher fees to sell with than others, some advertise for their members, some work well with their members by having an operational site with support that can always be contacted too. It all depends what works for you, and where you find to feel comfortable with. It is important for you to pick the right selling venue for You.

Some have their own websites. That is more cost to some with hosting fees, domain fees, shopping carts, and with your own website you also have to work harder to get yourself seen within search engines for the prospective buyer to find you. For me I have my blogs, my website, all having domains directed to them, and find this to be a smaller cost for me. With my blogs, and websites I offer the links for the venues I sell at, instead of a shopping cart I use the Artfire Rapid Cart, Ecrater Widget, and the RSS Feeds for the sites including Addoway. If any questions I can be contacted with no problem as I do read my emails through out the day. Also, if a seller would like to purchase directly from me I am more than welcome to invoice them through paypal.

So, what did you think? How has it been for you selling online, and have you found what can work for you? If so, please share with us here. Thoughts, comments, and opinions are always welcome at PassnItOn. I only ask everyone to be civil, and remember that we all have our own opinions to things with no right, or wrong answer.

Thanks so much for visiting with PassnItOn today! I enjoy the visits, the comments, the sharing, and hope to see you again. Take care till the next time Everyone.  Remember to visit with my stores with the links provided on this blog page to the right. Thank You!

What to Know About Internet Copyright Laws

Hello, and Welcome to PassnItOn where vintage, collectibles, gently used, home decor, repurposed, and upcycled are passions of mine.

I finally am getting to my blog to share with you lovely visitors more of things that I find, read, want to share, experience, have learned, and so on. Today I want to cover Copy Right Laws. This is something that is often discussed, mentioned, and that many people have issues with. I considered myself to be fortunate, and never noticed any problems. Then, one day with research in google, with my business name of LilacsNDreams, there it was. Some of my blog posts had been copied by someone on word press, and showing them. At first it was nice that someone wanted to share some of my writings, but then it hit me how I felt violated. I've tried contacting this person about this to talk with them, and to further pursue this issue. Everything I tried to do with their contact buttons was a dead end. So, I then did a little research on the internet for this kind of issue with Copy Right Laws, what they are, what you need to do, are you covered, and is it something you have to pay for to protect yourself?

I found that a correct form of copyright notice is "Copyright or ©, Date, by Author/Owner". Everything from April 1, 1989 is copyrighted by owner/author whether it has a notice, or not. All internet users must assume work is copyrighted, unless other wise specified by the author. "I grant this to the public domain" Anybody can copy, take, or use without giving credit to the owner IF this has been announced. A user can also contact the author, and be granted permission of use too. Copyright Law is Civil Law. I got this information from: http://www.pit.edu/~skvarka/education/copyright/

Everywhere you go to read on this it pretty much says the same thing. So, I apologize ahead of time for repeating myself to you about this. Some things just need to be announced again, read again, or sometimes said maybe in a different way with different references too.

Copyright protects original works of authorship including literacy, dramatic, musical, and artistic works such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture. Copyright Does NOT protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation. Although it may protect the way these things are expressed.

Names are NOT protected by copyright law. Some names may be protected under trademark law. Does Not protect names, titles, slogans, or short phrases. In some cases they may be protected as trademarks. http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq-protect.html

Copyrights protect creative expressions that has been reduced to a tangible form such as a book, piece of recorded music, computer program, screenplay, painting, photograph, or motion picture.

Trademarks protect brand names, literally marking items in trade. Idea behind the trademark is to protect the consumer by giving them some confidence that items branded with a certain mark are authentic, and come from where they purpote to come from.

Patents protects innovation. While you can't copyright an idea, you can patent one. www.benedict.com

Copyrighted works on the net include news stories, software, novels, screenplays, graphics, pictures, usenet messages, and even email. In fact, the frightening reality is that Almost Everything on the Net is protected by copyright law.

It use to be in order to be afforded any copyright protection, one needed to put the world on notice by attaching a copyright notice to the work. While this is no longer the case, it is still customary to attach a copyright notice on copyrighted works in order to be eligible for certain types of damages.

4 elements needed: Term copyright or the copyright symbol ~ Year of Copyright ~ Name of copyright holder ~ And the phrase "All Rights Reserved"

The symbol is required in many foreign countries in order for copyright protection to attach. However, in the United States the term "copyright" may now be used in lieu of the copyright symbol. Unless noted which the first part of this discussion was, the rest of this came from here that I found in research from google. http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq-protect.html

Also, keep in mind that the copyright is not necessarily the author, or creator of the work. There are companies to consider, the employees who work for them, and so on.

So, when we show pictures of others we need to give them the credit for it...which has also happened to me with a reputable social media that was corrected when I made them aware of it. I don't mind my things being shown with other places, and feel privileged it would be considered. But, please, ask me first, and also upon using anything here make sure you give the proper credit needed for everything. If I got it from some where, and noted it, make sure you also note it too. If it is something that came from me, please acknowledge that too.

Well, everyone, sorry it was a bit longer today, and I know there are repeats there too. Sorry, but I just took the content from what I was finding, and noting to put here for all to read.

Thanks for visiting with PassnItOn today. Hope you enjoyed your visit, and know you are welcome to visit here anytime. If you have something to share with us here, please do.
