Etsy Forums Are Gone Join a Team to Get Your Answers

Well now, just came from etsy forums again. Looks like it started with the Forums, but I thought it was suppose to be mid February that they started with the forums? Anyway, a lot of the forums are being locked. You can view what was said, look for an old post, but no more comments can be made. 

So, that then brings up the issues of the Teams that are replacing the forums. First of all, you have to join Teams. You have to apply for them, and be approved for them before you can participate with them. If you have pictures that are not good, or acceptable, a Team Captain can deny you joining the Team. Then, if you go forward, correct what was not acceptable before trying to join a Team, you will then have to contact the Captain to ask them for reapplying. Also, if the Team requests for the Captain to accept the member is another way to gain access I guess. 


Wow! Was much simplier when you could go to the forums, and look for the issue you were needing help with. A place where you could openly share, and promote your stores, and if you had a glitch or a bug, you could inquire right away about it. But, now if you have any issues you cannot just openly ask about it. You will have to go through the process of joining a team. But, if you are denied a membership to a Team....where do you go then to have your questions answered? Are they going to start a Team for Bugs and Glitches? If so, what if you were denied a membership to that? Then what?


Sorry, but this sounds very complicating, and very unethical too. This is not a very professional business way to handle a large group of people who make the selling venue what it is. Sorry, but this is really upsetting to hear this, and I am trying to understand it as many other members of Etsy are also trying to adapt, and having problems with it. 


So, what do you think? Do you think the Forums being removed was a good thing? Do you feel that having Teams for the forums was the right move? How comfortable are you with selling at Etsy with all the changes happening? Please, feel free to respond to these things everyone. Have to have some where to vent a bit:)

Decorative Pressed Glass Compote Candy Dish and Blue Candle Jewelry Holder Pedestal Stand

 Just listed this last night at Artfire. 3 separate glass pieces found at different times, and different places were put together to make this adorable candy dish compote. I added the iridescent pink bow for a more feminine touch. Many uses without the lid on it too.

This item is already listed in my store. But, yesterday I went through the store changing wording, titles, etc. When I got to this piece I redid the pictures, and added this angel to the piece too. She is not permanently added to the plate, but will be included with the sale. She just blends with all the colors, don't you think?

Etsy Changes & the New Unofficial Etsy Forums is Open. . . Visit With Them

Hello, and Welcome to all who visit with PassnItOn today. Thanks so much for visiting me, stopping by, and of course passing through too. I have 2 more items I have completed, and will be picturing them today for listing in my artfire store. Make sure you visit my store to see what is there, and what more is to come too. Now, anotther big issue is again with Etsy. They sure have been stirring things up there with making the news, changes, changes, and more changes which usually go unannounced, and you have to kind of be hit in the face with it too. Their lastest issue is with their forums there. They are closing the forums, and the only way to communicate, ask questions, share, learn, and so on will be by joining a "team". Sorry, this is not the same thing to me, and to many others too. Forums are an excellent place not only for the sellers, but also for your buyers. Everyone loves to read, lurk, share, show, and most of all...ask. Now, for all of that you have to belong to a team which we all kind of know how that goes. Whew! Still having a hard time comprehending this one. 


Due to this issue many are leaving, have left, closed up shop, and ventured off to find other ways to have their own forums for all to visit, and open to the public too. So, when you get a chance, if you haven't already, visit the Unofficial Etsy Forums that has been started. This group is steadily growing, many topics have been started, and they are progressing quite well too. So, give them a visit if you too are infuriated with the Etsy changes, and need some where to go and vent like others:)

PassnItOn at Artfire

PassnItOn at Artfire With Repurposed and Upcycled Treasures

Hello, and Welcome to PassnItOn! Glad you found me, and are visiting with me today. 

I am finishing up with 1 repurposed, and upcycled treasure I almost have completed. I put lace on yesterday, added more glue, today it is dry, and now am looking at some flowers to make a small bundle to attach to the piece with a small ribbon. I used a new plate that came from a set. Was an odd piece, and I have used a light chandlier cover that has light etched flower design in the glass. Attached the 2 and made another candle holder. This piece is looking good, and looks almost like new too! I am anxious to get it done, and have it ready for show. 

I have some extra glass pieces sitting here I have been toying with a bit. I put a piece with this, put these 3 pieces together, this one with that one, and so on. I think maybe I have found a couple of more things to make. I don't rush into things. So, tonight I will got back to looking at them, and probably start gluing again. I have found 3 different glass pieces that fit together nicely to make a lidded compote, or candy dish. I was very surprised the lid fit into the decorative designed bowl I have along with a flatter and wider candle holder to make a base for the piece, and give it a bit more character. Hmmm....I might have to get started gluing it now!

Glass Candle Holder and Bird House both Repurposed and Upcycled

Above is another Glass Candle Holder I have repurposed, and upcycled. Item was reconstructed by me using a brown glass chandlier light cover, a lonely mikasa saucer, I added a glass votive cup holder inside the brown glass with a cinnamon roll brown candle, and then on the edge of the plate has been added this boy, and girl figurine sitting. He is giving her flowers. If you did not feel you wanted this figurine on the plate edge, I have left it that it can be removed. I just used a light tacky substance to hold it in place:)

Here is my 1st birdhouse I have done. I spent some time with this making sure things dried, searching for different embellishments to use, changing my mind, and etc. This is ready to be listed with my PassnItOn Artfire Store. Pictured, weighed, measured, and hope to have this listed with my store tonight (monday) I have attached the white base to the birdhouse I found. I then added some green leaves around the pedestal base with a little green grass too. On the birdhouse I have attached a handmade decorative bird that has a gold beak, some sequins and pearls added to the tail and wings, and has a slight flower design in it's body that blend with the birdhouse coloring. Bird was made from a long time ago, found in one of my storage containers, and added to the perch where it is now glued. The roof of the birdhouse was just a plain unfinished wood. I have added a very light layer of a crackled paint to it giving it just enough outside wear look, and blending with rest of the piece. This birdhouse was made for inside the home, your porch, and etc.

Hello again, and welcome to PassnItOn Blog. Sorry, I was getting antsy, and wanted to get this done, and really hate leaving things undone. I don't know if this is the complete answer yet for my new banner to the blog, but it is a start anyway. Maybe it will grown on me, and you? Not sure, but will give it a try. 

I am really spoiled by being use to using bannerfans.com with options I have there, different things I can do & have come accustomed to, and so on. But, for the time being I used photobucket. I wish they had a few more options there, but I have dealt with what I could work with right now. 

So, anyway, here is the new blog banner for now, and will see what happens next. Do I keep it? Revise it? Hmmmm......:) Stay tuned! LOL:) Thanks again everyone, and stop by again. 

 

PassnItOn Store at Artfire for Repurposing, Upcycling, Recycling, and Reconstructing by Me!:)

Hello everyone, and welcome to PassnItOn. Just stopping by to visit, check on things, and to show a picture of a few more items just listed with my PassnItOn Artfire Store. So, when you get a chance, stop by to visit the store, and see some of the pictures with their details I am showing.  Oh, and I still cannot get into bannerfans.com to work with my banners. I so wish I knew of another place that I can do things like I do there, and free of course too. So, finishing my blog banner & some things is still on hold. Hopefully soon. Hmm...I am having fun doing this, and right now I would really hate for anyone to see my dining room table, and kitchen counter tops! I have been digging, bringing more things out, sitting together, visualizing, washing pieces, air drying them, and getting ready to soon do a few more pieces. Some pedestal stands again, and maybe some a little different too. Either way, and no matter what I do it is fun, and I enjoy the time doing it too. I hope others are able to share in with what is shown, and can also enjoy it too.

Repurposed Upcycled Reconstructed Pedestal Stands

Good Evening everyone, and Welcome to My Blog PassnItOn!:) Glad to see you here, and happy you stopped by to visit & browse. 

Artfire has been under maintenance most of the day with some upgrades done last night, and of course today getting things back into order from all of it too. So, kind of was on hold for a bit doing anything. I did get some pictures taken of a couple of more things I plan on adding to my store that I have completed. So, keep a look out for that too. Also, I did get a chance to change my avatar, and banner in my Artfire store. Check it out, and leave me a comment if you like it better than this banner here on my blog because I am thinking of changing it here too. Nothing fancy, simple, but I sooo love my pastel colors too!:)



Notice on the right side bar I have also added my rapid cart from Artfire. Helps me just in case I forget to add the pictures here for ya'll to see the work being added to my store. 

I have some more loose pieces sitting here I have washed, and cleaned, and thinking about. I have some ideas for some more items I know I have stored in my spare room for when I feel like being creative, and venture off to do a few different things than the pedestal stands that I have been doing.

I know with some of the craft shows, and with flea markets the pieces I offer now are like some of them that are also offered with these places for people to see, and purchase. I think they are really neat, and there are soo many possibilities of things that can be done with them too. Giving New Life to Treasures is fun, and I enjoy spending my time working with the items, and putting them together, and thinking of things to do. Hey! It's better than sitting around twiddling my thumbs coming up with ideas of things to occupy my time with, better than thinking about bills, and much better than looking out the window at all this snow & not being able to get anywhere again. At least for tonight...NO travel being advised.

PassnItOn Repurposed Upcycled Treasures at Artfire

I am just stopping by here myself to show a few pictures to some items I listed with my PassnItOn Store at Artfire. I am enjoying the repurposing, and upcycling of some of the pedestal stands I have been doing. I hope others can also enjoy the Giving of New Life to Treasures being offered, and adore them as I also do.

See those green apples? Those are candles. In fact, I think they are suppose to be floating candles that I have added with this plate as the colors, and everything just came together to make this what it is. 





 

This pedestal stand was fun! This mauve colored dish is something I had sitting for show for a very long time in my home, have attached it to a glass holder, added a simple bow underneath, and have included this white angel with pink flowers. She had a broken hand, but it has been repaired, and she looks good standing in this dish, don't you think?:)

Repurosed Upcycled Reconstructed Handmade Treasures at Artfire

Hello Eveyrone, and stopping by to add to my blog a big, check on things, the usual:)

I have added another item to my store on artfire, and hope you can stop by to see what I have been doing, adding, etc. See PassnItOn at Artfire to see my treasures I have been making:) I have a few items sitting here that have been washed, air dried, and ready for me to connect those pieces together too. Let's see, cobalt blue goblets, plates with soft blue flowers and blue to match the goblets, some silver trim....Hmm...sounds inviting, huh? I hope to have them done in a couple of days, and ready for show too:)

Hope the weather is doing well where you are. We got hit with quite a bit yesterday. Winds up to 40 mph, morning day and night it went on. This morning woke to sun, and sparkly snow that needed to be moved to get on & off the yard here, to get around to feed horses, and paths to just be able to move. Hard to imagine going from 1 extreme to the next...UGH! 

Well, I better be off to check on things, and see if it is ready for me to start gluing yet:) I have a birdhouse I need to put the finishing touches on, and hope to get that done tonight yet so I can have that listed in my store too. Repurposed Upcycled Vintage Treasures for Home Decor

Welcome to all who visit, browse, stop by, pass through! Hope ya'll had a great weekend, and hope that the Halloween weekend was good to everyone. I have completed a few more pieces, and some I am going to leave as is, but maybe 2-3 of the pieces I want to add a little to them yet. They look like they need something:) So, here are group pictures I did of some items so far:

These are pictures of items that are pretty much completed, and are being prepared for listing with my ArtFire store. I have the store set up, banner, avatar, but am working on some of the inventory. Along with these items I hope to also offer like some doilies, cloth napkins, tablecloths, and such as that too. I need to get envelopes for such items, and also look over charts for shipping for all of these items so I am prepared for when I start my listings. Wish me luck...I am starting to get nervous as this is a new venture for me. I have sold vintage, collectibles since 2005 as LilacsNDreams with different marketplaces, I do have an ArtFire store for LilacsNDreams, and have decided to add repurposed upcycled treasures along with that, but with another store. When you get a chance, visit my LilacsNDreams places, love the company from everyone!:) Crafting, handmade, repurposed, and upcycled it is really fun to look at, plan on what you want to do, see pieces for sale & just know that you can repurpose it some how....It is a thrill, and feels good when accomplished too:)

Holiday Shopping Season ~ Christmas Shopping Season

Hello again to all who stop to visit with me, are browsing my stores, and out surfing. So happy you stopped by to visit, and view!

I usually am not the pushy type of person. I am easy going, carefree, and love doing what I do. But, I do want to remind everyone . . . HOLIDAYS . . . are fast approaching for ALL of us! Coming fast for the sellers trying to get all their stores, booths, websites, and products ready, but it is also fastly approaching for the shoppers too.

Just heard some reports about September Retail numbers were very strong last month. This could mean a strong holiday season for us all. If any of the shoppers are like me . . . I have been watching my pennies, not buying anything, being a good girl all year . . . But, I am getting antsy, and ready to shop!

So, everyone make note, it is predicted this will be a good season. But, also remember other retailers are aware of this, and will be gearing up with coupons, sales, and doing what they can for their businesses also.
