Welcome to Second Time Treasures, and glad to have you visiting with Me! Do you like Thrifting, Second Hand Stores, Treasure Hunting, Flea Markets, and you know....finding them great deals? Sure you do! Many of us do, and sometimes searching the internet is where we gather to look as well too.

MaryLouLavenders is a seller on Ebay who has been there for a long time. Like many of us her desire is to make her sales count to one day let go of that day job, and to be able to focus fully on what she enjoys doing.....Thrifting, Treasure Hunting, vintage, antiques, and all of that fun stuff. Hey, how many others wish for this same thing too? I sure do! Just to be able to enjoy what I am doing, and knowing others are happy with their finds they receive from me would be such a great feeling.

So, below are a few pictures from MaryLouLavenders that she is offering right now. I happen to know that she does have more inventory that is being prepared to be added with this as time permits. So, keep an eye out for some of them things. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask her, ok?

Getting Organized by Repurposing and Upcycling From Home

Getting Organized by Repurposing and Upcycling From Home.

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! Glad to have you here, and hope ya'll are having a wonderful week so far. The time of year is coming for me, and maybe for some of you too. End of year, holidays soon over, winter time, and I will soon be getting cabin fever...not a whole lot can do when it is cold out, and sometimes have snow too. Things will soon be slowing down around here after all the fesitivities, and I will then be looking around at everything. House walls will start to come in a little closer, and I will realize since I cannot paint anything yet that I need to get more organized. Honestly, I feel that way a lot with organizing, but I have been looking at some things to maybe help me out a bit, or give me some wonderful ideas to do.

So, my favorite things of repurposing and upcycling will be able to help with many of my organizational tasks I will be planning out. I have found many others doing it, and they have also shared many wonderful pictures along with sometimes a tutorial on how they did it too. We don't always have to go out, and buy new to fix things around the home. We sometimes have things right in our home that we don't consider, and can be used. Many of us hang onto different things thinking some day I might find a use for it, or also the feeling of you just hate to get rid of it...you never know. This is one of them times to use some of them things.

Have any extra tea cups from a mismatched set, coffee cups, mugs, saucers, and etc? Use those to separate things in maybe a drawer, and organize them. For instance paper clips, pins, tacs, staples for that good old stapler, tape, and just different things like that.

There are many ways to organize the walls, and your spaces with things you have sitting around too. Using some tin cans...paint them or add some mod podge and paper to them to decorate for the area you would like to use them with. They can also be hung too. Use some old desk, or dresser drawers to organize with as well. Something I have been seriously considering lately...since I have enough of them, and will see them when thrifting too is dressers. Oh yeah. They can be used for your tv consoles, pull drawers out to make room for the dvd player and such, and don't forget....those drawers can be used in other ways too. I have seen some dressers repurposed for the kitchen as an island, seen them in the bathroom to organize as they are, or by adding sinks and such to them too.

Below I will show you only a few pictures I found to hopefully help you create maybe what would work for you. There is much to see out there on the internet, and with different places. If you have a day where you can just roam for a bit, take a look, and find some things to spark your imagination. I have found that some of the blogs have been helpful, and also at pinterest.com many are tagging things there of interest too.

I can see putting 3 baskets, bowls, pie pans, and such together making something like this myself. Great for serving of food, but also for organizing of things in the bathroom, kitchen, office, bedroom, and so on. I got this picture from organizerwomansday.com

Something so simple, but oh so organizational too! here is showing how coffee cups, creamers, glasses, and trays come be helpful when organizing them smaller things you have. Not only the bathroom, but the kitchen, office, and your bedroom would be great with this too. I found this picture with apartmenttherapy.com

I forgot to mention how some of us maybe need to organize for our gardens, or the tools we use. This is a dresser that has been repurposed for such a task. Neat idea, isn't it? I found this on pinterest.com which it originally came from addicted2decorating.com. Hmm....the possibilities!
Here is a way to use some of them dresser, and desk drawers that you took from their original places. Or, maybe found when thrifting and junking too. Drawers can be hung to the walls and used as shelves, they can be mounted, they can be cut to then attach to the walls with the fronts facing everyone, I have seen some big drawers that were used as little night stands next to a bed, and the possibilities are endless with this along with other things too. This picture came from consignmentphinds.blogspot.com

As you can see there are so many possibilities to use to organize our homes, our little spaces, rooms, and etc. With some of them we can give our own little touches to them to work with our country homes, shabby homes, cottage homes, beach homes, and so on. I hope this helps you with some ideas of what to do with organizing. As we all know, seeing something can often give us our insights we need to serve us. So, have fun with it everyone!:) Thanks so much for visiting with Second Time Treasures! Always a pleasure to have you, and see you again soon. Take care, and Happy Holidays everyone!:)

Thrifting Repurposing Home Decor With Artfire

Hello, and Welcome to Second Time Treasures! Glad to see you, and happy you could stop to visit with us today.

Whew! Where has the time gone, right? Christmas is a little over 3 weeks away...everyone ready? Not Me! Usually by this time decorations have been put up outside, in the windows, inside the home, around the garage, and so on. I also have done all the Christmas cards, and gotten them sent out by now too. Not this year! Different time for us here with things happening. The farm we live on we have been here for over 3 years now. The landlord has been wanting to do things with the place. Last year the house, the garage, the big stable barn, and all the other sheds got tin roofs put on. This year, very late in the year with the contractors, but all the siding has been ripped off of the house and garage. New siding is on the garage with a new entry door too. The house has had a hole cut in the living room wall with 2 new windows put in, a window in spare room upstairs was replaced with just some flex glass, the other window has been removed now - this room will be the upstairs bathroom being added, the door in our bedroom was taken off and that is being closed off too. A wooden porch is being added up front facing the road, and a little bit bigger porch is being added to the main entrance door. Oh, yes, there is a new entry door with the house too. Now...considering the weather with a light snow, and cold they have slowly been working on putting insulation back on the house with the siding. Part of the down stairs is done, with the upstairs to be worked on yet too. The transformation is amazing!

Unfortunately, with all of this happening our home is in a shambles right now. Furniture pulled away from some of the walls with the window replacements, and the upstairs spare room has been combined into another room with items. So, my lace, my ribbons, my beads, my scrapbook paper, paints, and all crafty things are here there, and you know. I have lost my extra room to work with some things since rooms have been combined to make room for things, and of course items coming off all the outer walls with all the banging, and pounding. I feel like I am at a loss staring at a messy home. I want to work on things, but it is kind of hard to do so. The most I have accomplished is gluing some holders as pedestals to some plates making a cake plate stand, and a 2 tier cake plate stand. Another reason I have been kind of absent from here, and not able to show too much of anything. You can visit Artfire to see some of the things I have gotten done, added for sale there, and to watch for more coming that I was able to get pictured....even that task is a challenge now:) I got about 3 other things listed the other night, and hope to get another 1-2 done tonight too. A 2 tier cake plate made from a vintage dinner plate, and a glass cloche that has been repurposed by me also.

You are more than welcome to visit with my store to see what goodies are being offered. Bear with me as I am working on filling the store back up. I did have a customer buy both my federal glass dishes I had repurposed, and is enjoying them very very much!:) Those can be viewed in my Gallery. Thanks so much for visiting with me, and bearing through all the changes right now. Thinking of everyone, and hoping ya'll are better prepared for the Holidays than what I am this year. Take care, and come back to see me again.
